When TV Viewing audiences are at an all-time high, the impact this has on TV station costs mean they are at an all-time low.

As we all adjust to more time at home to stay safe and well, TV viewing audiences are at an all-time high.  Every Tuesday Thinkbox gives us the most up to date analysis of the shifts in TV Viewing trends.  During post, Easter weekend marked the first full month of lockdown.  Once again TV viewing saw an 18% audience increase for individuals and ABC1 Adults continue to see the highest uplift for the third week in a row.   Last week saw ITV’s the Quiz, the biggest drama launch on any channel so far in 2020, with averaging 5.5 million nightly viewers with a 26% share across its 3 episodes.  The final was watched by 5.8 million individuals 10% of the 16+ adult population.  This was followed by Countdown on Channel 4 is a hit with younger audiences with the 16-34-year-olds more than doubling year on year with a 62% increase.    Dave’s highest rating programme of the week was Qi XL and again reached a total audience of 1.9 million viewers across the week with an increase of 42% year on year.
